Virtual Reality Experience + Self-Guided Tour of Ancient Rome

Join us on this amazing and innovative VR adventure to explore ancient Rome in a revolutionary new way! Enjoy skip-the-line access to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on a self-guided tour.

The Colosseum in VR

One of our staff will meet you near the Colosseum, where you will receive the latest in VR technology with Samsung’s ground-breaking Oculus Gear. This incredibly light-weight VR device gives you the opportunity to travel back nearly 2,000 years, to a time when the Colosseum was at its peak.

Just choose your desired language and the headset will do the rest.

This interactive experience enables you to see what life was like in Ancient Rome.

View the infamous Statue of Nero, the Meta Sudans Fountain, the Temple of Venus and Roma, and, of course, the world-famous Flavian Amphitheatre (more commonly known as the Colosseum).

Journey across the arena floor to witness a gladiatorial battle and go behind the scenes into the underground systems, which are considered the heart of the stadium. Learn how they housed the animals and contestants and how the trap doors worked. Discover how they disposed of the bodies and kept everything running, all while keeping the crowds entertained.

This option is great for everyone but especially those with kids. It’s informative and educational but, more importantly, it’s entertaining.

The Colosseum

Now that you’ve experienced the Colosseum in virtual reality, you’ll get to see it in person. Explore this world-famous arena that has withstood natural disasters, bombings and even lootings. Venture through passageways and scale ancient stairways to see the different tiers that were used for seating. Look down at the arena floor and imagine what it must have been like for the gladiators, slaves and animals who fought and died in this colossal amphitheatre.

Roman Forum

Once considered the heart of the Empire, the Roman Forum is the largest and most impressive archaeological site in the city. This outdoor museum is a cornucopia of intrigue, filled with temples, ruins, arches and basilicas. Walk down one of the oldest streets in the city, see the only Roman temple dictated to a married couple, visit the Curia (the ancient senate building), and discover the site where Julius Caesar was cremated.

Palatine Hill

Well worth the visit for the views alone, the Palatine Hill is one of the oldest areas in the city and is considered to be the birth place of Rome. This multi-level complex, where Emperor Augustus was born, was home to aristocrats, kings and emperors, as well as a mythological cannibal. Explore this impressive hill, take some photos and get a bird’s eye view of sites like the Circus Maximus, the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.

Thanks for the excellent tour guide that allows us to visit the museum in the best way possible. Thanks! This is an amazing tour.
